Reiraku.net was registered December 24, 2004 through namecheap and is hosted by Total Choice Hosting. Reiraku.net officially opened January 8, 2005. I can now say with confidence that TCH is an excellent host and I definitely recommend them.
The name 'reiraku' comes from one of my favorite mangas, Bleach. Reiraku in Bleach are visible spiritual threads that only high level shinigami can visualize. In vol 2, Kurosaki Ichigo uses this to track down his friend, Sado Yasutora or Chad. It's brought up again in vol 5 when Ishida Uryuu uses it and in vol 8 when Ichigo needed to find the right box that contained his Zanpakutou, Zangetsu, to become a shinigami. For those who've never read Bleach, all that must've made no sense.
After going through a couple names, when I came across 'reiraku' in Bleach it just kind of stuck. I liked the way it sounded and that it came from one of my favorite mangas. I chose .net because I've always wanted a .net tld.
You'll also notice that I've named the pages after some Bleach chapters because I've always loved Kubo Tite's creativity with the chapter titles so I thought I'd have some fun with them.
